After you pay, our system calls an available listener first to confirm they’re ready. Once they accept, we call your phone. When you answer, you’re instantly connected in a private conference call. Both calls come from our JustVentNow number, keeping both parties anonymous.

What happens if all listeners are busy?

You’ll see an amber “Listeners Busy” status with a “Join 10-Minute Waitlist” button. Click it, enter your phone number, and authorize payment. Your card is held but not charged. We’ll call you the moment a listener becomes available. If no one becomes available within 10 minutes, the hold is automatically released and your card is never charged.

If I’m on the waitlist, will I be charged if I’m not connected?

No. If you join the waitlist and no listener becomes available within 10 minutes, or if you cancel while waiting, your card is never charged. The temporary authorization hold is released automatically. Unlike a refund, there’s nothing to wait for — the hold simply disappears.

Can I cancel while on the waitlist?

Yes. There’s a “Cancel Waitlist — No Charge” button on the waiting page. If you cancel, the hold on your card is released immediately and you’re never charged. You’ll get an email confirming the cancellation.

I see a pending charge on my card. Was I charged?

Accepted Answer

If you joined the waitlist, you may see a temporary “pending” authorization on your card. This is not a charge. If you’re connected to a listener, it becomes a real charge. If you’re not connected (timeout or cancellation), it disappears entirely on its own.

What if I close my browser while on the waitlist?

Your spot is preserved. The 10-minute timer runs on our servers regardless of whether you have the page open. If a listener becomes available, we’ll call your phone. If the timer expires, the hold is released automatically.

No. JustVentNow is peer-to-peer emotional support, not medical or mental health treatment. Our listeners are empathetic humans who are there to talk with you. They don’t diagnose, treat, or provide professional advice.

There’s something uniquely comforting about talking to someone with a grandmother’s perspective: they’ve seen it all, they don’t judge, and they offer the kind of grounded support that only comes with life experience.

No. We do not record, store, or analyze any conversations. Your venting session is completely private. Once the call ends, there’s no trace of what was said.

By design. When you’re upset, vulnerable, or just need to unload, being on camera adds a layer of self-consciousness. You start managing your facial expressions, fixing your appearance, performing composure — when what you actually need is to let go. The psychology behind this is real: people have their deepest, most honest conversations when they’re not being watched. Think about late-night phone calls, long car rides, or talking in the dark. When no one can see you, your guard comes down in a way that just doesn’t happen on video. Audio-only also strengthens the anonymity. The listener never sees your face. You never see theirs. You could be anyone, anywhere. That separation is what lets people say the things they’ve been holding in. So no, this isn’t a limitation — it’s the whole point. We chose audio-only because it’s the format that actually lets you vent freely.
